The program is aimed at propelling young persons intentions for science, technology and engineering careers. The program engages the youth across the country by providing face-to-face connections that bring together students, out-of-school youth on the one hand and, scientists and technologists, researchers, innovation role models, policy makers and industrialists.

  • Deliberately and diligently work towards reducing the current high rates of rural-urban migration by the youth.
Activities
  • Career guidance to propel the youth interests in agriculture, science, Technology and Engineering careers.
  • Organize and hold annual stakeholders week events during which various kinds of social marketing and awareness raising on S&T issues will take place including awarding of prizes to winners, run-ups and participants.
  • A gender Science and Technology campaign for the girl-child designed to clearly communicate to all stakeholders the objectives and the content of the program and especially the empowering opportunities available through it.
  • Engage the youth in identifying, planning for and implementing innovative and gainful projects in the areas of climate change, innovative commercial farming, renewable energy and natural resources management.

This is aimed at enabling students to convert academic theoretical knowledge into practical skills. It acts as a conduit for preparing young learners for the workplace as it sharpens career development, school-to-work focusing and general youth transitions, dedicated to helping young people to acquire basic skills, explore career opportunities, and gain experience within the work-place and communities.

This well-rounded workforce preparation program trains young people the career-related skills necessary for success, and generally encourages them to be prepared for a variety of different careers. One common belief is that school-to-work transition must be understood as a gradually developing process that begins in the early school years and continues through the end of high school.

This program is aimed at inculcating the culture of entrepreneurship into the mind-sets of young people leading to the creation of a rich, combination of young peoples` capacities in creative, business, scientific, technological, agricultural and production operations.

  • To expose young people to business problems that can be solved with the help of technological solutions.
  • Promote agriculture and entrepreneurship through harnessed and re-aligned science and technology solutions.

  • Engage especially the rural youth to access and benefit from opportunities in the renewable energy sector, ICTs and other relevant technologies to address climate change, agricultural and other environmental challenges in their respective communities

This program aims at developing and applying ICT skills in all science and technology undertakings in schools, workplaces and above all in the community (agro-based initiatives inclusive). LOG`EL Project emphasizes that ICT skills be embraced across all sectors in the social-economic transformation and development in society.

Pupils are taught to make use of information technology and to do their presentations. This inter-disciplinary project has certainly gone a long way in honing the pupils creativity and innovation.

    • To procure and install the key ICT hardware and software tools among communities.
    • To organize contests so as to source for innovations that could address particular community needs such as youth science, technology and innovation contests with emphasis on agro-based initiatives by the rural youth
    • To design and develop ICT tools and packages aimed at bridging the digital divide among farmers and other key groups in Uganda.
    • To engage especially the rural youth in initiating and operating ICT led, agro-based and related projects, to benefit their livelihoods together with those of their respective communities.

The Technology Transfer Program promotes the transfer and/or exchange of technology with academia, industry and other agencies. The technologies developed and evaluated within the Research and Development Department usually have tremendous potential for commercial applications throughout the region and expand areas of exploration and cooperation between our partners.

To accomplish its mission, our Technology Transfer Program promotes research and partnerships, evaluates, protects, markets, monitors, and manages inventions as well as the intellectual property rights for the inventions.
